About Me

My name is Mike Hirst and I am Fireride IT Consultancy. You won’t find me using the third person as I’m not pretending to be a large IT Consultancy, it’s just me. Don’t let that put you off though, I have a wealth of experience and technical knowledge that I’m sure could be of value to your business.

So why should you engage me to assist with your IT?

I have over 18 years of professional experience in the IT industry and have held a wide range of positions including IT Support/Procurement, Software Development and Management roles. I have experience working with the Public Sector and the Private Sector from Portfolio Workers and SMEs all the way up to large multinationals.

Also, I’m passionate about IT and making sure people get the most out of their IT investment. This includes your staff as well as the hardware you purchase. Sometimes the most simple things, such as discovering a keyboard shortcut, can make the biggest difference to people. I love computers so you don’t have to (or maybe I can help you love them a little bit)!

I have experience of using, managing and maintaining a wide variety of hardware and operating systems from hand held PDAs, Blackberry, iPhone, laptops, desktops servers, network routers and switches. A Windows user since version 2, Linux user since 1991 and Macintosh user of a few years I think I have most bases covered.
